The property is situated on the edge of a small hamlet at the end of a no-through lane with gardens/land on three sides and views over the stunning scenery of the Parc Naturel Perigord-Limousin. Local Information
The pretty local village (3km) has two bars, one restaurant/bar, chemist, hairdressers, garage/petrol station, general store and bakery. There is a lively community in the village, and a number of clubs and associations (choir, photographic, gardening, fishing, bowls, horse driving/riding etc). There is canoeing on the river and an outdoor swimming pool open in the summer. Primary school in the village, and many other local villages within 8 or 9 kilometres.

Further afield (approx. 15km) the market town of St. Yrieix la Perche has a number of supermarkets and a leisure centre/pool. Secondary schooling here and at nearby La Coquille.
 
Rouffiac lake (approx 15km) is a 100 acres of lake/woodlands offering a beach with swimming area, showers and bar/restaurant. Cable skiing/boarding and many other water sports are available here.


Equestrian
There is good local hacking on marked tracks from the edge of the hamlet meaning a minimal amount of road work. Both English and French horse groups locally. Pompadour (haras national) is around 40km away, with cross country course and gallops, horse racing, dressage and show jumping competitions (club, pro and international) and much more. There is a regular show jumping venue at nearby St Yrieix la Perche and many other smaller venues throughout the year (dressage, SJ, endurance etc). English-speaking vets, equine dentist, equine osteopath, saddler, farrier (or trimmer) all available locally.
