Throughout the summer Troc & Puces (Flea markets) are held. There is a museum in Port Vert and the owner’s favourite feed merchant, who is very helpful and speaks quite good English. There is also a large friendly veterinary centre where the senior vet owns a horse and specializes in horses. There are five other vets in the practice. They sell wormers with the brands familiar in the UK such as Eqvalan & Strongid! L'Orient the University and Port Town is 28km away. Randonnées are the main competition/ leisure in this area, similar to pleasure rides in England. There is also a very popular long distance/endurance area which is very competitive. Show jumping is held at local riding clubs and there is a small amount of dressage. The National Stud at Hennebont - 24km holds many events and demos; a pleasant afternoon can be spent visiting. 33km away is The Rocking Horse, run by an English lady, who stocks English Spillers feeds, preps boots, equestrian clothing, and much more. The owner is a keen golfer and enjoys playing at a lot of different clubs around the area, with both French and English players.
