The property is situated in a quiet location on the edge of a village bordering the river Creuse in the southern Loire. It is close to the Brenne National Park and the thermal spa town of La Roche Posay. The Loire Chateaux and several major towns and airports are within easy reach.

The village has two boulangeries, a bar, a restaurant and on the outskirts, a hypermarket complex with chemist, garage and a further restaurant.

There is a leisure park beside the river which has tennis courts, a playground and a supervised, public swimming pool.

The nearest large town is Châtellerault, twenty minutes away and with all amenities including a mainline railway station. The larger cities of Poitiers and Tours are each within an hour's distance and both have an airport and mainline railway station.

The Brenne National Park (land of a thousand lakes) is close by with excellent fishing, birdwatching and leisure facilities.

Schools
Schooling up to primary level is available in the village. Secondary education can be reached in Le Blanc, about half an hour away with bus transport.

Equestrian
There is an equestrian centre just outside the village, with others all around the area and various Pony Club venues. Plenty of feed suppliers with a large one on the outskirts of Châtellerault. The local farmers will supply hay. A farrier visits the village and the vets in Châtellerault and Preuilly are experts with horses. There are many competitions of varying standards around the region.

From the house, it is possible to access bridleways in open country in a couple of minutes and without crossing any major road.
