5 minutes walk away is the Lac des Montagnes were there are cafes, restaurants, crazy golf, tennis courts and a small child friendly beach with a water play area and life guard. A stroll around the lake takes about an hour.
There is lots to do on the mountain, including fishing, horse riding, lakes for swimming, rivers, cycling, walking and the gorges. La Barouge Golf Club is a 20 minute drive, a challenging but enjoyable course set in a beautiful location.

A five minute drive away is the medieval village of Hautpoul with its castle ruins and 25 miles away is the medieval “Cité” of Carcassonne, the largest fortress in Europe.

The nearest village is around 1½ miles and has a general store.

The nearest town is Mazamet (5 miles) with supermarkets, doctors, hospital, pharmacies, boutiques, bars, restaurants, cinema and many leather shops. There are open air markets 3 days a week where you can buy locally grown produce and fresh flowers, and the occasional Fois Gras Market on Sundays during the winter.

Castres (16 miles) has all the facilities of a larger town including an ice skating rink.

SCHOOLS

Both primary and secondary schools are in Mazamet; colleges in Castres.
