The property is a carefully restored traditional Anjou farmhouse set in the Loire Valley, between Angers and Tours and only 5 minutes drive from the Loire itself. It is some 15 minutes from the popular centre Saumur with its inspiring Chateau dominating its cobbled streets, medieval buildings and modern shops.

The Loire valley is a beautiful and amazing place to explore. Within 1 hours drive there are literally dozens of châteaux, many of which feature 'son et lumière' spectacles, and hundreds of vineyards producing the wines of Anjou and Touraine, including Muscadet, Saumur, Champigny, Bourgueil and Chinon. There are free wine tastings in almost all vineyards.

Coarse fishing is extremely popular in the nearby rivers, including the Loire itself. The river Authion, a tributary of the Loire, is a 15 minute walk from the house and is a popular local fishing spot. Most fished for are pike, carp, bream and sandre. The local angling shop can provide all necessary equipment, bait and advice.
